Other than its rich historical and cultural heritage, what makes Kudlu village stand out from the rest of the villages in Kasaragod is its relevance as a spiritual centre. Apart from the nearby Siddhivinayaka temple at Madhur, Kudlu hosts three major temples along with numerous other sanctums.
The triplets, better known as Kuthyala Sri Gopalakrishna & Annapoorneshwari Temple and allied temples (others being Mahavishnu Temple at Vishnumangila and Sadashiva Temple at Shivamangila) have been important places of worship for devotees, both far and near.
All the three temples have been managed by one of the oldest families of Kasaragod - The Kudlu Shanbhogue family, which has always been closely associated with the administration and functioning of these temples.
The natives of Kudlu consider themselves blessed and believe that its none other than Kuthyala Gopalakrishna himself who protects the land and its people. A grand annual festival besides various other religious ceremonies are conducted in these temples in honor of the respective deities.
Apart from the main idol of Kuthyala Goplalakrishna, the temple also has separate sanctums for Sri Annapoorneshwari, Mahaganapathi, Dharmasastha and the family of Naagadevatas.
